Course: Configuration, Deployment, and Management of an Enterprise Wireless LAN using the Alcatel OmniAccess WLAN Series Switches
Course Length: 4 days
Pace: Normal

Course Overview:
This course will provide experience in installing, planning, deploying, managing, and troubleshooting enterprise Wireless LANs using the Alcatel OmniAccess Wireless Solution. It will also provide in-depth coverage of issues unique to Wireless LANs, including Radio Frequency (RF) as well as security concerns.

The course will cover topics relating to security concerns when implementing a WLAN. The topics include authentication and encryption using 802.1x, WEP, WPA, TKIP, VPNs, Firewalls, DoS, and Rogue AP detection. The security portion will also cover the security concerns related to RF, such as coverage areas and leakage outside of a building, as well as how to prevent unauthorized use of your enterprise WLAN.

In addition to general WLAN topics the course will cover the hardware and software relating to the Alcatel Wireless Solution. This includes the management and configuration of the OAW-6000, OAW-4324, and the OAW-4308 WLAN Switches as well as the AP-60, AP-61, and the AP-70 APs using both the CLI and Web-Based Interface. The course will then cover additional tools to help in the deployment and management of an enterprise WLAN, including AP placement and RF planning tools, used to provide a real-time heat map of an enterprise WLAN environment, as well as the RF Management NMS tool for managing the entire enterprise WLAN environment.
